A Message from the Principal
Welcome to the Divine Redeemer School website. Here you will find pertinent information about the daily activities of our school, and if you are a visitor, you will learn a little bit about our mission.
At Divine Redeemer, we see potential in every child, and work together with parents to make sure that every child achieves according to his or her God-given ability. We recognize that our students will be the “citizens of tomorrow,” and so we strive to provide a well-rounded education, integrating academics, spirituality, and faith formation. Through the years we watch as they grow in age, grace, and wisdom. Over fifty years of experience has shown that Divine Redeemer graduates are prepared to succeed in high school, college, and in their careers. They leave our school as confident, competent, caring young adults.
Would you like to provide your child with a strong foundation for the future? We can help you achieve that goal. Please browse the website to learn more about our school. If you have any questions, or have an interest in enrolling your child at Divine Redeemer Catholic School, do not hesitate to call us at (843) 553-1521. As the principal, I will be happy to meet with you, and provide you with a personal tour of our school facility. I want to work in partnership with you to give your child all the advantages of a quality, Catholic education.
Divine Redeemer Catholic School serves the surrounding communities of the greater Charleston area, including Hanahan, North Charleston, Charleston, Goose Creek, Daniel Island, Summerville, the Air Force Base, and the Naval Weapons Station. There are established car pools from many of these areas. We are also conveniently located near the new Boeing facility, and welcome all families new to the area.
Come and join us!
Sincerely,
Peggy L. Vice
Divine Redeemer Catholic School Vision
|
Inspired by the vision and mission of Jesus Christ, and having served the families of Hanahan for over fifty years, Divine Redeemer Catholic School accepts the evangelical role of the Catholic School within the Church, and looks forward to serving the increasingly diverse population of Hanahan, and the surrounding communities, for decades to come.
Maintaining authentic Catholicity by welcoming all, we strive to include not only parish families in our school program, but also families new to the area, especially those serving in the military, or those who have relocated due to employment.
We endeavor to provide academic excellence in a traditional Catholic School setting, where the Liturgy is central to our daily lives. Our school families will enrich the life of the Parish through their community spirit and generosity to the Church and her members.
Working in partnership with Divine Redeemer Church, Divine Redeemer Catholic School will provide an educational setting which will graduate caring, competent, confident individuals, who are firm in their Catholic Faith, and ready to live successfully in our complex society.
Divine Redeemer Catholic School Mission Statement
|
Divine Redeemer Catholic School believes that each child is a vital member of Christ’s body.
Our school exists to help each student fulfill his or her
God-given potential.
The school and parish work together to guide our students through the sacramental life of the Church, provide an excellent academic foundation, and prepare them to live out their faith as productive members of society.
OBJECTIVES
In order for Divine Redeemer Catholic School to carry these beliefs to fruition, we strive to implement the following:
- To help children mature in their life of Christian faith through participation in the Sacramental life of the Church
- To provide the students with a solid academic background using the best available teaching methods and materials
- To provide a structured and disciplined learning environment
- To encourage Christian charity, respect, courtesy, and patriotism in each student
- To help each student to develop intellectually in order to meet the demands of society and to instill the value of good citizenship
As a school community, we commit ourselves to these beliefs so that Divine Redeemer Catholic School may truly fulfill the mission of Catholic education.
