Take the Day Off!

Don’t forget…Friday, April 29th  (TOMORROW) is a day off from school.  The faculty will be on retreat that day, so please plan accordingly.  School and ESP will resume on Monday, May 2nd.  Enjoy the day!

Talent Abounds at DRS!

Our drama club, under the direction of Mrs. Caitlin Omilak and Miss Caitlin Rebuck, provided us with a great evening of entertainment on Tuesday, April 26th.  They presented a hilarious “whodunit” called, “The Mysterious Case of the Missing Ring.”  (Surprise…it was the butler, played by Ivan Gonzalez!)  The acting was sublime, the sets creative, and the laughs plenty.  Thanks to all of our young Thespians who worked hard to learn lines and prepare for this fantastic evening of fun. The cast included:  Paola De Faria, Jullie de Faria, Elizabeth Fuerte, Sally Cease, Jesse Kirby, Salena Jones, Eva Jones, Isabella dela Cruz, Meilani Wijetunga, Christian Martinez  Colorado, Gianna Hanley, Alasia Jordan, Giselle Gonzalez, Mary Teresa Provost, Lyla Darnell, Joseph Santiago, Stacy Martinez, and “the butler,” Ivan Gonzalez. We are already looking forward to a great production next year!!!

Racing Along with Donations, and…SHIRTS!!!

Thanks to all of our families who have participated in our Race for Education fundraiser by sending in address labels.  They have been mailed, and donations are starting to roll in.  In other “good news” on Race for Education…we WILL have Race for Education tee shirts for all students to wear on May 6th.  Due to a gracious benefactor, we were able to order the shirts, and send the bill to our donor.  Thanks so very much for your kindness, Jessup & Sons Paint & Body in Moncks Corner!!!

Please note that school will be dismissed early on race day, May 6th.  All students need to be picked up by 11:50 a.m., as there will be no ESP that day.  Thanks for your cooperation.

2016-2017 Enrollment Looking Good!

We have new families visiting every day, and enrolling their children for the 2016-2017 school year.  Be sure to tell all of your friends and family members what a great school we have.  Remember…the bigger the enrollment, the more opportunities we can provide for your children.  We currently have plenty of spaces available in our K3/K4 class, and also in second grade.  The other classes are filling up quickly, especially K5 and grade 1.  Don’t wait until it’s too late!

Welcome Aboard

We would like to welcome a new family that started school at DRS on Monday –  the Escalonas, including Edgar, K3, Ramon, gr. 3, and Lourdes (Lulu), gr. 4.  They are new to the area, and we are happy to have them with us.

First Day of School

School will begin on Monday, August 15th!  Mark your calendars!  The first two days will be half days for all students.  (Preschool students will have half days each day of the first week.)  For those planning vacations ahead of time…we will have all the “normal” holidays, including three days off for Thanksgiving, over two weeks off for Christmas vacation, and a week and a half for Easter.  The last day of school will be on Wednesday, May 31st.  Exact details will be coming your way soon.
