New Face in the Office
We have a new office assistant, as of Tuesday, May 3rd. Ms. Patricia McBride will be working in the school office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 7:30-9:30 a.m., specifically to help our Spanish-speaking families. Ms. McBride is bi-lingual, and will be a huge help in improving our correspondence with all of our families. If you are a Spanish-speaker, and need information or help on school-related issues, please come to our office during Ms. McBride’s office hours. You can also leave her a phone message with Miss Tracy, and she will return your call ASAP. Ms. McBride will also be translating our school documents and correspondence, and may be able to interpret at parent-teacher meetings as needed. (Keep in mind that she will interpret DURING meetings only, so if you have an issue with a teacher, please speak directly to the teacher.) Please feel free to stop by the office and introduce yourselves to Ms. McBride.
Despite stormy weather, our eighth graders were confirmed by Bishop Guglielmone on Thursday, April 28th. Along with their parish counterparts, they were beautifully attired, and responded audibly to all questions asked by the Bishop. We are all very proud of the following students from DRS:
Michelle Maria Bui Jullie-Allisan Lucy de Faria Kaitlyn Arnessa Monica Milligan
Dalton Lim John Posadas Brittany Agnes Sanchez-Acevedo Diana Miranda Teresa Torres
First Communion is Saturday, May 7th
Please join us at 10:30 a.m., for Mass, as our second graders receive our Lord for the first time! Please keep them in your prayers as they take this next step on their faith journey.
To Teach As Jesus Did…Again
We are happy to announce that all of our faculty members have committed to returning to Divine Redeemer Catholic School for the 2016-2017 school year. We thank them for their dedication over the years, and look forward to another great year at DRS!
The following families are being honored for their great efforts in supporting our SCRIP program. If each of the families below will snap a picture with their phone or upload a picture from their computer, and email it to email@example.com we will be able to post your pix on our bulletin board!
Super Gold Star Members ($3,000+)
Cease (5.8 gold stars)
Bramlett (4.8 gold stars)
Lane (3.6 gold stars)
Nguyen (Xuan) (2.5 gold stars)
Super Blue Star Members ($1,500-$2,999)
Super Star Members ($1,000-1,499)
We have quite a few families close to be Super Star Members! It’s not too late to join the Super Star SCRIP Club!
We have earned an average of 4% of total purchases, and have made a little over $2,000 this year on SCRIP sales. We have approximately 75 families in our school, and if everyone would purchase the recommended $1,500 in SCRIP each year, we could easily double that amount. Imagine what improvements we could make to our program with $4,000!!! Please help…it’s not too late to support DRS!
Catholic Relief Services Needs Your Help
We are asking every student to please bring in $2.00 to help those in need in Ecuador, and other places in the world, that have been devastated by earthquakes, storms, and other natural disasters. Mrs. Pease is leading this drive, and requests your donation of $2.00 per student (if possible) by Monday, May 9th. Thank you for thinking of others who are less fortunate than we are! God bless you!
