FIRST GRADE PROGRAM
The Program goals of Divine Redeemer Catholic School Early Childhood Education Program will meet the unique needs of all children by providing:
- A nurturing Christian and safe environment that promotes a child to explore and be challenged in order to develop optimum motor and cognitive skills and strategies.
- Group activities that give children the opportunity to expand new ways of thinking, decision making, and problem solving.
- Developmentally appropriate and traditional activities that foster intellectual, language, physical, creative, and social/emotional development.
The Pre-Kindergarten Program
The Pre-Kindergarten Program provides the basic elements of Religious education, language development, math/science readiness, personal-social development, fine and gross motor skills, art, music, physical education, library, and Spanish.
The Kindergarten Program
The Kindergarten Program provides further development of the elements that were acquired in Pre-Kindergarten. Kindergarten offers a variety of activities which develop the readiness skills for reading, writing, and math. Faith development and Catholic ideals are integrated throughout our program.
The 1st Grade Program
Divine Redeemer School’s 1st Grade encourages the students to excel in an environment that focuses on academics, social awareness, community, and of Faith development.
The First Grade Program provides the foundation for reading fluency. The Language Arts Program incorporates a multi-level and diverse approach to the teaching of language arts. Opportunities are provided for shared and guided reading so that the students will work towards becoming independent readers.
The teaching of math allows the children to develop number skills through computation, shapes, patterns, money, and time.
